St. Louis Public Radio Public Radio Mobile Apps

 

St. Louis Public Radio Mobile AppWhether you have an Android phone, iPhone, iPod Touch, or iPad, you can use our St. Louis Public Radio station application to listen to any of our streams wherever you go. The St. Louis Public Radio app is available for free, and can be accessed through the iTunes store or the Android market.

Each platform offers consumers a user-friendly interface capable of live streaming St. Louis Public Radio's three channels—90.7 KWMU-1, The Gateway KWMU-2, and Classical KWMU-3. By connecting a smartphone to the auxiliary jack of a car stereo, Classical KWMU-3 and The Gateway KWMU-2 fans will be able to listen to our channels in a car without an HD radio.

The app also includes one-touch bookmarking, a unique feature allowing users to bookmark an exact position within a stream to refer to again for a specific topic of interest or song heard during a St. Louis Public Radio program.

The complete list of features includes:

  • DVR-like controls that allow for pause, rewind, and fast-forward functions

How to get it:

From your iPhone, iPod Touch, or iPad:

  1. From your iPhone, iPod Touch, or iPad, click the app store icon.
  2. From the app store, tap the "search" feature.
  3. Type "St. Louis Public Radio" and tap Search. The St. Louis Public Radio app will appear in the search results.
  4. Tap the St. Louis Public Radio App link in the search results. A description of the Public Radio Player application displays.
  5. Tap the "Free" button. It changes to an "Install" button.
  6. Tap the "Install" button.
  7. Wait for the St. Louis Public Radio application to be installed.
  8. Tap the St. Louis Public Radio app icon from the iPhone or iPod Touch Home screen. Select which stream you prefer and start listening
  9. The app will ask you to create an account. This will be used for you to save your bookmarks in your app and will allow you the ability to access them online from any computer.
  10. Select which stream you prefer and start listening, bookmarking, and sharing your favorite St. Louis Public Radio moments!

Android Phone:

  1. Visit the Google Play store on your phone. You'll find it within your listing of existing apps.
  2. From the store, tap the search feature (the magnifying glass).
  3. Type "St. Louis Public Radio" and tap search. The St. Louis Public Radio app will appear in the search results.
  4. Tap the St. Louis Public Radio app link. A description of the St. Louis Public Radio application displays.
  5. Tap the "Free" button. It changes to an "Install" button.
  6. Tap the "Install" button.
  7. Wait for the St. Louis Public Radio application to be installed.
  8. Tap the St. Louis Public Radio app icon from your list of apps.
  9. The app will ask you to create an account. This will be used for you to save your bookmarks in your app and will allow you the ability to access them online from any computer.
  10. Select which stream you prefer and start listening, bookmarking, and sharing your favorite St. Louis Public Radio moments!

Listen in your car:

If you have an auxiliary jack in your car, you can use it to listen to the stream through your car stereo. Simply plug a cord into the auxiliary jack and then into the headphone jack on your phone. The cords are widely available at stores selling electronics or car accessories.

Troubleshooting:

If you have questions or comments about how to use the St. Louis Public Radio mobile apps, you'll find support within the app itself. Tap the "more options" button and then tap "support." There are multiple ways to submit your support requests from there.

How to stream St. Louis Pubilc Radio from a Blackberry:

The St. Louis Public Radio app is not available for Blackberry devices, however, you can still listen to our streams by downloading a basic streaming app for your device.

Once the app is downloaded, if you can't find our station using a search you can use these direct links for each of our streams:
